SLE stands for Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. I want to bring awareness to this disease while also sharing my love for fashion, beauty, hair, cosmetics, and modeling.

The symbol for the disease is the BUTTERFLY! A powerful, delicate, quiet species. Me personally I find this animal to be so suiting for the disease because it attacks the most delicate parts of the body (internal organs/skin), in such a quiet manner you can't really tell your sick until your in a full blown flare up. Most people get a Butterfly Shaped Rash on the skin when out in the sun this is a sign that is often missed and people pay no attention to. This disease is powerful and like the butterfly it takes you through many stages in life.

Butterfly:

  1. Egg
  2. Larva (caterpillar)
  3. Pupa (chrysalis)
  4. Adult Butterfly

Lupus:

  1. I think something is wrong I'm going to go to the doctor. All test say you are fine so you let it go.
  2. Knowing something is wrong (immune system has turned on itself and is attacking one of your own body systems) doctors run specialized test in order to diagnose you!
  3. Going through whatever treatment is needed accepting that this is something you will have to live with for the rest of your life and there is no cure. May cause a slight bit of depression!
  4. Knowing that you are stronger than anything you come up against, while learning how to adjust your lifestyle to accommodate for your new found flare triggers in life, take care of yourself and take your medications and be the most beautiful BUTTERFLY you can be!!!
